After a month of playing its home games in Sioux Falls, S.D., the St. Paul Saints will return home to their actual home at CHS Field in St. Paul.

The team will play its first home game Tuesday, August 4. The Saints have 18 home games remaining.

The Saints have worked hand-in-hand with the Minnesota Department of Health and Gov. Tim Walz’s StaySafeMN task force to create a COVID-19 Readiness Plan that adheres to guidance for outdoor entertainment venues. As such, there will be tighter rules than in a standard season. They include:

  • A maximum of 1,500 fans per game
  • Six distinct areas around the ballpark with no more than 25 percent capacity in each area and a maximum of 250 people in each area, with at least one full empty section in between each area
  • Reserved and socially distanced seating within those areas
  • An exclusive entrance for each area
  • Exclusive restroom facilities for each area
  • Exclusive concession facilities for each area
  • Stanchioned concourses to provide exclusive space for fans in each area

Masks will be required for visitors to CHS Field, though they can be removed while seated and/or eating and drinking.

The team will communicate regularly with fans over various platforms, including email, text and social media to provide instructions on parking, entrance, masking and health screening.

“Since this all began, the health and safety of our fans, employees, players and coaches has been our priority,” says Derek Sharrer, executive vice president and general manager. “We’re excited to bring the team home and can’t wait to get started.”
