Omni Hotels & Resorts will open a four-star, full-service hotel located in the Viking Lakes development in Eagan, the company announced Wednesday.

Omni “has extensive experience and a strong record in designing and operating luxury hotels and resorts across the country,” says MV Eagan Ventures Owner Mark Wilf. “The company’s expansion into Minnesota is a testament to this market and to the overall vision of developing Viking Lakes into a first-class destination.”

The hotel will have some local flavor. Nordic architectural traditions and dynamic and unpredictable climate and seasonal elements — such as the Northern Lights — are built in to the hotel’s design, which was led by ESG Architecture & Design. It also is designed to give people feelings of comfort, well-being and refuge, with finishes and features including clean lines, neutral color palettes and simple, but deliberate design elements.

The 14-story hotel will have 320 guest rooms, including 14 suites. It’ll feature 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom. have an all-day dining outlet, a specialty restaurant and lounge with a bar and and outdoor terrace, a grab-and-go market, a retail outlet, an espresso and lobby bar, a full-service spa, sauna and steam rooms and a pool and fitness center.

Construction, led by MN Development Co. LLC.,  in collaboration with Kraus Anderson, is underway. The hotel is slated for a late 2020 opening. Omni joins MV Eagan Ventures; Ecolab; Cambria owners Mark, Mitch and Marty Davis; and Viking Lakes Hotel Physician Partners as ownership partners in MVE Hotel LLC.
