Bartolo Colon’s mid-season turnaround has helped deepen the Twins’ starting rotation and pushed the team into the thick of the wild card race. The team is celebrating his success with “Big Sexy Night!” at Target Field.

Tickets purchased through a special link found here entitle fans not just to attend the Friday night game against Toronto, but also to take home a “Big Sexy” t-shirt.

Seating is limited and t-shirts are first-come, first-serve. Pick up begins at 5 p.m. and runs through 7:30 p.m.

The Twins note in their announcement that the t-shirts will be available even if “Big Sexy” does not take the mound.

The New York Daily News notes that this isn’t the first time Colon’s “Big Sexy” moniker has been promoted by his employer. He’s been honored with sandwiches and shirts. The 285-pound hurler recently trademarked the nickname in the event he come up with an athletic apparel line.

He enters the game with a 6-12 record and a 6.41 ERA, but much of the trouble he had was with Atlanta early in the season. Prior to a rough start Sept. 24 against Kansas City, the 44-year-old Colon had pitched at least six innings in seven of his last eight starts, a stretch during which he produced a 4-2 record with a 3.42 ERA.
